1611 King James Bible Sampler:

Beautifully printed unbound sheets, photo facsimiles of the 1611 King James Bible, large folio sized. Contains all the preliminary material (charts, maps, etc.), the complete book of Psalms, and the Gospel of John. 25 signatures of 8 pages (200 pages). 17 1/2″ x 11 1/2″ untrimmed, printed with trim lines. Trims to 16 3/16″ by 10 7/8″, with grain running parallel to the spine. These are the publisher’s unbound remains, having been originally offered either perfect-bound in the standard paper edition or in the heavy parchment style with a deluxe full leather, silk moire endpapers like the ubiquitous Franklin Mint or Easton Press volumes.

The standard paper sheets will take dyes very nicely for aging effects; either to the entire textblock or to individual sheets suitable for framing. (We have a great many orphan signatures for sale as well.)

2 versions:

Standard paper edition: I don’t know what kind of paper this is, but as a rough comparison, it’s similar in tone and weight to a Mohawk Via Vellum Ivory 70# text I have here in the shop. It is vert slightly more yellow in tone than Mohawk’s Cream. The textblock is 5/8″ thick, weighing just over 3 pounds.

Deluxe edition printed on Valley Forge Parchment, 65 pound Old Natural cover stock: At 1″ thick, this is a much heavier weight and a significantly thicker textblock than the standard paper edition, weighing just over 5 pounds.
