Half calf in Medieval Style: Sewn on 3 pairs of double cords, heavy board with inward bevel, handsewn headbands (single color over round core.) Calf spine (tightback), corners of vellum cloth, deerhide sides. Plain endpapers. Sprinkled top edge. 9″ by 6″, 1.25″ thick.
The textblock was an experiment in sewing and then wetting it to create an aged, “cockled” effect. This has given the pages a slightly rumpled look perfect for your own historical revisionism. Two pages stuck together during the process and separated roughly. It is a very interesting book, but this “defect” is noteworthy.
