WWI Soldier’s Diary, 1916 Replica in morocco leather

$165.00$180.00

Soldier’s Diary, pocket sized, these journals are a faithful recreation of an actual soldier’s diary dated 1916, including the Old English lettering above the tongue. They’re beautiful, altogether unique, and (we’re bragging, I know) a triumph of old world bookbinding craftsmanship in the modern age.

Details: 5 1/8″ by 4″, 5/8″ thick. 160 pages of Mohawk’s Via Cream White Vellum 60#, chosen for both its writing surface and vintage feel. Sewn on two cloth “tapes”, linen joints. Flat yellow endpapers printed on Mohawk’s Via Ivory Vellum and an excellent match for period “clay coated” endsheets. (These endsheets are available here for purchase.) Pocket at rear for passes or paperwork, bound in morocco leather and tooled by hand.

Options:
Colors: Black, mocha brown, navy blue, maroon, red, forest green, emerald green, or saddle tan
Tooling: Can be left untooled (no “Soldier’s Diary” and no charge), or a name can be tooled in place of “Soldier’s Diary” ($15 extra).

Note: If selected, please indicate the initials or name you would like as well as the font you would prefer in the notes at checkout. (Fonts can be found in a picture above.)
